EAN

Enriched Air Nitrox is the first course that any diver seeking technical training should take. In this course, you will learn the basic theory, procedures, safety protocols, hazards, risks and benefits of using Enriched Air Nitrox for recreational or no decompression diving.

Prerequisites Open Water certification with 10 dives after certification or Advanced Open Water certification (Rescue Diver certifiaction is recommended)
Materials * EAN text and slates, EAN compatible standard scuba equipment
Classroom 6 - 8 hours
Confined Water none required
Open Water 2 dives
Certification PADI / IANTD / TDI
Limitations 130 feet and no decompression diving
Maximum Student to Instructor Ratio 8:1

Cavern

The Cavern course is the first course in a four course series that teaches the students the proper techniques, safety protocols, procedures and planning for dives in the overhead environment. For underwater purposes, a cavern is defined as an overhead environment with daylight always visible, with a maximum depth of 70 feet and with 130 feet of linear penetration.

If you intend on continuing immediately with your cave training to the Apprentice or Full level, you can and should use double cylinders during your training. However, if you do not complete Apprentice or Full, you will only be allowed to use a single cylinder when you return to dive on your own.

Prerequisites Advanced Open Water certification and EAN
Materials * NSS-CDS Cavern Diver Manual, line reel with 130 of line, 2 battery powered lights, standard scuba equipment
Classroom 4 - 6 hours
Confined Water buoyancy skills, propulsion techniques, use of line reel
Open Water 3 cavern dives
Certification PADI / NSS-CDS / NACD
Limitations 70 feet and no decompression diving

Introduction To Cave

The Introduction to Cave course extends the range of a Cavern Diver by allowing them to go beyond daylight and to a maximum depth of 100 feet. In this course, the divers will use additional safety equipment, practice new diving techniques and begin true cave diving.

If you intend on continuing immediately with your cave training to the Apprentice or Full level, you can and should use double cylinders during your training. However, if you do not complete Apprentice or Full, you will only be allowed to use a single cylinder when you return to dive on your own.

Materials NSS-CDS Cave Diving Workbook, NSS-CDS Cave Diving Manual, Blueprint For Survival, single cylinder with dual outlet valve, 7 low pressure hose, primary line reel with 400 of line, 3 battery powered lights

Certification NSS-CDS / NACD
Limitations 100 feet and no decompression diving

Apprentice Cave

At the Apprentice level, the divers learn some of the techniques for cave diving like gaps, jumps, traverses and circuits. Completion of this level allows the divers to continue to practice on their own before continuing their training with their instructor.

Prerequisites Introduction to Cave
Materials Double cylinders and all Introduction to Cave materials
Classroom 4 - 6 hours
Confined Water none required
Open Water 4 cave dives
Certification none - This is a temporary classification. You must complete Full Cave within 1 year.

Full Cave

Full Cave divers will have learned the techniques necessary to dive in most caves. Additional training can be obtained for specialty areas like DPV diving, Side Mount diving and Rescue diving.

Advanced Wreck

This course goes beyond the recreational wreck diving course and includes decompression diving, penetration, deployment techniques and emergency protocols.

Prerequisites EAN
Materials * Advanced wreck workbook, single cylinder with dual outlet valve or double cylinders (recommended), EAN stage cylinder with regulator, 100 lb. lift bag, line reel, lights
Classroom 4 - 6 hours
Confined Water equipment configuration, propulsion techniques, lift bag deployment, stage cylinder deployment
Open Water 4 dives
Certification TDI
Limitations 150 feet

Rebreather

The course structure and duration is dependent on the unit that you wish to be trained on. Your certification will be a type certification for that specific unit. We currently have the ability to train divers on the Atlantis I/Dolphin SCR, the Prism Topaz, SM1600, MK15, MK15.5 or MK16 CCRs and the Lar V Oxygen CCR.

Materials * Rebreather workbook and/or manuals, rebreather
Classroom 6 - 8 hours
Confined Water 2 - 4 hours / equipment familiarization, buoyancy, propulsion techniques, bailout techniques
Open Water 4 - 6 hours (minimum of 4 dives over 2 days)
Certification TDI / IANTD
Limitations 130 feet and no decompression diving

EAN Blender

This course will instruct you on the knowledge, procedures and protocols for mixing Enriched Air Nitrox. We will cover the different methods of mixing and will require you to mix using two different methods.

Trimix Blender

This is a continuation of the EAN Blender course and teaches the basics of blending trimix.

Deco Procedures / Deep Air

This is the first level of training for those divers desiring to dive deeper than the recreational limit of 130 feet. This course will cover dive planning, equipment, gas management, oxygen management and decompression theory.

Materials * Decompression Procedures / Deep Air workbook, Deep Diving by Bret Gilliam, single cylinder with dual outlet valve or double cylinders (recommended), EAN stage cylinder with regulator, 100 lb. lift bag, line reel

Extended Range / Technical Diver

In this course, the students build upon techniques and knowledge obtained in the previous course. The divers will learn how to deal with narcosis as well as all the techniques needed to continue training to the next level. They will use multiple gases for decompression and how to handle the added task loading of more equipment and gas switching.

Prerequisites Deco Procedures / Deep Air
Materials * Extended Range / Technical Diver workbook, Technical Encyclopedia, double cylinders, two stage cylinders (one EAN and one Oxygen compatible) and all equipment used in the Deco Procedures/Deep Diver course

Trimix

This course is the apex of training for the deep diver. The students will utilize skills and techniques that have been driven home during the previous two courses while diving deeper and adding one more element - the tool "trimix". At the completion of this course, the divers will have sufficient knowledge to plan and execute trimix dives on their own.
